Steven (Tanner Richie) isn't like most fifth grade boys. Between his emotionally abusive mother (Renata Green-Gaber) and his popular classmate Brent (Michael Petersen), Steven finds himself struggling through childhood isolated and afraid. To make matters worse Steven has a crush on one of the prettiest girls in his class, Courtney (Kelly Heyer), who practically ignores him. When Steven becomes the victim of a cruel prank by Brent, he must face the possibility of losing the only thing that has kept him going.
