After two more in a series of disagreements with neighbors Hal and Maggie, Paul tells Jamie of a rumor about their building going co-op. When Hal and Maggie unexpectedly drop in to apologize, Paul suspects something is behind their sudden friendliness, while Jamie suggests joining them to walk their dogs and take in a movie. However, only after calling to charge the movie tickets to a credit card do the Buchmans discover that Maggie and Hal want to buy their apartment. Meanwhile, in spite of their owners, Murray falls for Hal and Maggie's purebred show dog, Sophie.
