As of late, I've been going to bed around 4 or 5am, my mind full of "to do" lists and ideas, but mostly because I'm surfing the web and late posting on Instagram since the kids are fast asleep...but I digress. Anyway, I loved this song by Lorde, and on one sleepless night, and day, I rewrote the words to fit my life. The people in this video are all my friends and family. I hang out with these super cool moms. Joan is wearing one of my favorite shirts. Jen let me borrow that jumpsuit because it's too long for her legs. I love that we can fit into each other's clothes, with or without spanx. We met years ago, all of us having been in a production of the musical Miss Saigon, and now our kids play together nearly every week. Once upon a play date, we thought it would be fun to exercise our vocal muscles and sing again, but sing about what's real and dear to us now, in our present lives. This all feels right. I wanna thank them and their husbands and kids, and EVERYONE who took part in and worked on this fun project. It took a village, and hopefully it's the first of many more to come! We're just getting warmed up! Enjoy!
With love & bear hugs,
