Mr. Mike's Mondo Video is a spoof of the 1962 shock-exploitation documentary Mondo Cane, which featured travelogue vignettes of bizarre cultural practices designed to titillate Western audiences. Here Mr. Mike (O'Donoghue) presents his own brand of shock in twisted sketches that make us simultaneously laugh and cringe. With a narrative wraparound about an underground organization in search of disturbing images, O'Donoghue subjects us to such family-unfriendly fare as Cat Swimming School, church service of The Living God, Jack Lord, Dan Aykroyd's revelation as a genetic mutant and Elephant Electrocution.
