My Son John

Is he or isn't he? Following criticism of her religious views and her husband's (Dean Jagger) patriotism, upon suspicion, Lucille Jefferson (Helen Hayes) follows her arrogant son, John (Robert Walker), to Washington, D.C., to find out if he is a Communist. Van Heflin portrays Stedman, an FBI agent interested in John's interests. Leo McCarey directs this film, which was made at the height of the Red Scare in America.
