In this loose remake of a 1952 noir classic, Carol Hunnicut (Anne Archer) experiences the worst blind date imaginable when mob thugs slay her companion. Realizing she's the lone witness to the crime, Carol flees to a remote mountain home to hide. District Attorney Robert Caulfield (Gene Hackman) wants her to testify and follows her, but he's not the only one determined to track her down -- the mobsters are hot on her trail, too.
