Nomads (1986)

A French anthropologist (Pierce Brosnan) intends to settle peacefully in Los Angeles, but a mystical band of deadly evil spirits (lead by Adam Ant) -- the incarnation of nomads he once studied -- materialize to haunt him. When he is murdered, he passes the memories of his last days to an emergency room doctor (Lesley Anne-Down). She is then plunged into a freakish game of life and death as she becomes the next target of the unrelenting nomads.
