Shanae spent much of her youth in foster homes and juvenile detention centers. At age 10, when most girls are playing dress-up, Shanae was drinking and doing drugs. At 11, she was gang-raped and became pregnant. At 12, she was convicted of stabbing her own friend to death. In 2003, after an appearance on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' during which she expressed remorse for the murder, Shanae continued to rebel. Watch as the former juvenile delinquent explains why it was a blessing in disguise when her grandmother kicked her and her daughter out of the house.
