Renegade cop and bounty hunter Reno Raines wants to go into a gang-infested ghetto to arrest Clarence Dex Dexter (HILL HARPER), a black teenager wanted for murder. Reno's employers, Bobby Sixkiller and Cheyenne Phillips, fear that Reno will be killed in the violent African-American neighborhood where Dex lives. Reno tells them that, as a young policeman, he patrolled that area and wants to help protect his friends who live there.Reno rides his motorcycle to Danny's Place, a community youth center and neutral zone for the local gangs, owned by his friend Danny Alexander (STEVEN WILLIAMS) and Danny's daughter, Lynette (JULIETTE JEFFERS). Reno asks Danny for Dex's address. Reluctant to endanger his property by betraying a gang member, Danny refuses but offers Reno protection if he needs it.
