May 15th, 2008: Houston Astros 8 at San Francisco Giants 7 F -- What the Astros are doing these days is borderline absurd. Apparently, not even a bad starting performance and shoddy defense are enough to stop them. They received very little from Chris Sampson on the mound, and Mark Loretta was, at best, rusty as Miguel Tejada's replacement at short, committing two errors. And still, the Astros overcame a wide deficit to beat the Giants, 8-7, on Thursday. Darin Erstad launched his first career pinch-hit homer, a three-run shot off Tyler Walker in the eighth, to tie the game at 7, and Lance Berkman's homer off Vinnie Chulk in the ninth pushed them ahead.
