Two teens, Jim and Sonia meet for the first time on campus when Jim intervenes with Sonia's abusive boyfriend, Bo. Jim's an outcast and Sonia's a campus queen. So no one is more surprised than Jim when Sonia accepts a ride home from him. But on the way to her house Jim swerves to avoid a pothole just as a truck tries to pass him on the right. The truck screeches to a halt and the mysterious driver thinks Jim cut him off. The truck begins to follow Jim and Sonia from street to street and freeway to freeway. They escape the truck, but short on fuel, they pull into a gas station. Just as they're gassing up, the truck returns and what follows is a night of narrow escapes and terrifying cliffhangers.
