Hondo and his men go underwater to catch a scuba-diving ring of jewel robbers suspected of committing two homicides and of holding female hostages in Deadly Tide, a special two-hour presentation of S.W.A.T. Christopher George, Sal Mineo, Lesley Warren and Don Stroud guest as a quartet of dangerous criminals who have pulled a series of jewelry store holdups in which Miss Warren, using various disguises, poses as a customer taken hostage. During one holdup, a store manager is fatally wounded. With S.W.A.T. in pursuit, the gang heads for the harbor district and disappears into the water. Deadly Tide, which also guest stars Susan Dey, marks the first straight dramatic role of veteran comic Phil Silvers, playing an old waterfront character who assists Hondo in tracking down the fugitives.
