SHADED BLUE - The Deepest Man on Earth

Sicily/Italy: The Cuban Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras free-dives to the incredible depth of -128 Meters (423 ft) below sea level. 35 KG (70 lbs) of led pull down his sled into the deep, where his body is exposed to a water pressure of almost 140 Metric tons per square Meter. In just 2 min. and 26 seconds, Pipin reaches the surface and for the seventh time, he obtains the title of 'World Champion in Freediving'. Just like in the famous movie 'The Big Blue' (Luc Besson, 1988), Pipin slips down into the deep blue abyss, with only one breath of air, silently into the 'Shaded Blue'. Below 100 Meters (330 ft), his heart beats only 12 impulses per minute: just enough to survive. Although, a ride with his sled lasts only 2.5 minutes, Pipin is able to hold his breath for more than 8 Minutes. Doctors and scientists study the man who dove more than 500 times below 100 Meters (300 ft) and had spent more than 33.000 hours beneath the surface of the sea. None else is able to freedive deeper than Pipin:
