Accusing Hollywood power broker agent Lane French of destroying his latest project, screenwriter Robert Joyner storms out of their meeting, leaving the angry and stunned agent behind. Meanwhile, when the film's producers are threatened by Clean Nation, an ultra right wing religious group intent on disrupting the filming of the picture, Rita goes undercover as a studio vice president, with Chris as her assistant. Finding Joyner and director Cameron Knox waging a bitter feud, Rita intervenes with the film's star, Anna Alexis, and only then learns that the famous actress is also Chris' estranged mother.
