After private eye Jerry Banning is found murdered, his boss, Tony Marella -- an ex-cop who rose through the ranks with Captain Lipschitz in New York years ago -- arrives in Palm Beach to investigate. Rita finds that Banning placed several calls to millionaire businessman Kenneth Hamilton's home and office prior to being killed. Although neither Lauren Hamilton nor her houseman can recall ever speaking with him, Hamilton Industries security chief Dan Tarr claims he spoke with Banning about a new job. Meanwhile, after joining Jillian for a long awaited island vacation, Chris takes ill with the flu.
