After Brenda Matthews turns up dead, evidence suggests she was murdered in the hotel room she shared with the 21-year-old son of gubernatorial candidate State Senator Grant Hemmings. A visit with the senator's Chief of Staff, Paula Houston, leads Michael and Holly to the private beach club where Jason Hemmings keeps a boat. After an examination of the victim's car reveals she was a reporter, Jason admits the sex got rough but never deadly. And though he's arrested, Jason is released as Paula privately reassures her boss and lover that everything is fine.
