A young woman from Fairfield, Iowa was raised by her parents to be a blessing to the world. Her mother dreamed of her daughter dedicating her life to a convent. Her father dreamed that maybe she'd join a commune or become a peace activist. Hence the nickname, 'Sister Patchouli.' Much to everyone's chagrin, however, Patch never left Fairfield to become a blessing to the world. Instead, now at age 28, she works as an ordinary clerk in one of her small town's knick-knack shops. But there's nothing ordinary about Patch. This comedy/drama with a slice of romance was created entirely in the unique community of Fairfield, Iowa using actors from in and around Fairfield for all roles. Original music was supplied by Sharon Bousquet. Fairfield is the home of the Maharishi University of Management as well as the stunning Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
