Snow Falling on Cedars

Set in the early '50s, with anti-Japanese sentiment still high, Kazuo Miyamoto is accused of murder after a fisherman is found drowned. Newspaperman Ishmael may have information to acquit Kazuo, but struggles with a jilted past love with Kazuo's wife.
