In the last year, America s faith and resiliency have been severely tested by disasters in all corners of our country, most recently in Arizona. But in moments of despair, there have been those who extended a helping hand.
On this 4th of July, we acknowledge Americans who reached out to their stricken countrymen.
Such was the case in Moore, Oklahoma, after a May 20th tornado took 24-lives, injured hundreds, damaged 24-hundred homes. Seven young lives were taken at Plaza Towers Elementary School. Among them, eight-year old Sydney Angle.
Through the sorrow in the days that followed, baseball and softball brought a measure of healing.
