Dr Drain sprays Drainland with a hair-growth formula, making everyone hairy, so he can sneak a hairy caterpillar into the Cleansing Sea to eat the Purifying Plants. Although most Drainlanders are initially shocked by their new hairiness, Herk is delighted to finally have friends who are as hairy as he is and he opens his own hair salon. He is so happy that he doesn't believe it when Stanley tells him the hair could be a plot by Dr Drain.
Mary Jane, who was also sprayed with the serum, faces humiliation at school when she has to give a presentation with a big, bushy beard.
