Dennis W. Archer is the former Mayor of the city Detroit. He is known for his business savvy, having lured Compuware to Detroit and cleared the way top bring three major casinos to the Motor City. Having been recognized by president Bill Clinton in the mid 1990's, he was given top honors as having produced the best plan to revitalize his city. Mr. Archer is the first African American to preside over the American Bar Association. He often advised the Clinton administration with respect to urban development and renewal. This keynote speech was given by Mr. Archer during a luncheon at the Lansing Center. In his remarks, he offers suggestions and challange attendees to find within themselves the desire to Stgrengthening Michigan Families Many believe Mr. Archer is poised to become Michigan's 48th Governor. Mr. Archer was succeeded by Kwame Kilpatrick, who was almost removed from office by Governor Jennifer Granholm.
