Kelso plans a trip to Vanstock (like Woodstock but with vans), but when Jackie declines, he decides to go with Laurie. Donna's surprised to see Kelso making out with Laurie. But when she asks Eric what's going on, Eric claims he knows nothing about it. Since losing his job, Red spends most of his time watching soap operas. So when he attends a big banquet at Kitty's hospital, he finds he has more in common with the wives than the doctors he meets, because he can discuss the soaps. At the last minute, Jackie shows up, saying she wants to go to Vanstock. Hyde tells her to hide in the back of the van to surprise Kelso. Upon discovering Jackie, Kelso nearly drives off the road. Hyde adds more fuel to the fire by suggesting Laurie and Jackie get to know each other better. While in their sleeping bag, Eric confesses to Donna he did know Kelso was cheating, which infuriates Donna and makes her leave.
