The Manchurian Candidate is based on the 1959 novel The Manchurian Candidate by Richard Condon, and a remake of the 1962 film.
Denzel Washington stars as Captain Bennett Marco, a Gulf War veteran who was captured along with his platoon and eventually released. But Marco has figured out that during the Gulf conflict, their unit was brainwashed by the enemy. He's now determined to reach the presidential candidate before the sleeper.
