After being saved from a villainous, napalm-spewing cow, Arthur wakes to find himself in the company of a superhero known as The Tick. Impressed with Arthur's amateur crime library, The Tick wants him as part of a crime fighting team. However, noting the problems of a co-worker who traded in his day job for superhero stardom, Arthur isn't so sure he wants to. Meanwhile, with the help of fellow superheroes Batmanuel, The Cape and Captain Liberty, The Tick seeks an arch-villain to fight. Despite warnings from his colleagues, The Tick sets his sights on the biggest super-villain of them all, The Terror. After alerting Arthur to their mission, The Tick places a phone call to The Terror's mansion, goading the 112-year-old villain into a fight. However, it's Arthur who's in trouble when he learns that The Terror has identified him.
