The Winter Guest

In the directorial debut of Alan Rickman, the recently widowed Frances (Emma Thompson) still grieving over her husband's death, deals with a visit from her overbearing mother. Meanwhile, her teenage son begins a tentative romance with a local girl, two old buddies attend the husband's funeral, and a couple of truant teenagers stir things up.
