After 23 years of marriage, Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) decide to get separate beds; however, after a few nights of sleeping alone, the novelty wears off and they realize that separation is not always better and they really do enjoy being together. Meanwhile, at work, Eddie finds himself working for Principal Duffy (guest star Kathleen Rose Perkins), a former student who Eddie humiliated years earlier while she was his student. It is now her mission in life to seek revenge and make his life as miserable as possible.
