To the Shores of Tripoli

Chris Winters (John Payne), the wealthy young son of an officer, joins the Marines and wreaks havoc with his cocky attitude, shamelessly pursuing nurse and Second Lieutenant Mary Carter (Maureen O'Hara). But with his sergeant's (Randolph Scott) guidance, Chris eventually becomes a worthy, battle-tested soldier. To the Shores of Tripoli earned an Oscar nomination for Best (Color) Cinematography (though it is presented here in black and white).
