When Nancy learns that her check has bounced for Shane's karate lessons, she pays in cash, while at home she struggles to pay bills the same way. Meanwhile, teenage son Silas is upset because his girlfriend has been sent away to a Mexican reform school by her mother Celia. Silas thinks his girlfriend didn't say goodbye because the phone has been disconnected for lack of payment. Nancy meets with Doug Wilson, her accountant, and regular pot customer, who suggests she establish a cover business to launder her drug money and at the same time he orders a big stash from her for his regular five-man poker game.
