Nancy Botwin, along with friend Celia Hodes, co-chair a school meeting where Nancy overhears other mothers talking about how she is coping with the sudden loss of her husband who dropped dead of a heart attack while jogging with their youngest son Shane. At the house of her pot connection Heylia James, Nancy enjoys the banter with Heylia, Conrad, Vaneeta and Keeyon as they fill varying sizes of ziplock bags with weed. She makes a hasty exit when she realizes it's time for Shane's grief counseling. Meanwhile, Nancy sneaks out of her own house under the guise of a neighborhood watch meeting to sell to fellow dealer Josh Wilson, the teenage son of her accountant Doug Wilson. She makes Josh promise never to sell to minors. But the next day, at an elementary school soccer game, Nancy spots Josh selling to kids in the playground. She confronts him and he responds by calling her a hypocrite because she sells pot to the parents of those minors.
