World's End -- A soldier realizes the futility of war after a cataclysmic event.
In a dystopic land, a soldier wakes up with no recollections of his past. His memories gradually return but are delusive, making him intensely depressed. Two cataclysmic events are occurring simultaneously: a war and a natural disaster. The soldier s hallucinations depict this conflict among people as being a judgment by Mother Nature, and she responds to their war with a natural disaster. Finally, it is revealed that the war is actually meaningless.
This film was inspired by an area called World s End, which is located at Horton Plain National Park in Sri Lanka. The name of this place, World s End, is also related to the presumed ending of the world in 2012.
