Abe gives his acceptance speech after winning his bid for reelection, but it’s not quite how he would have imagined. Lexie, having found out about his cheating on the debate, is furious. After making his speech, Abe tells Jennifer that Lexie knows about the debate questions. He tries to make his wife understand, but she says he’s no better than her brother or father. Meanwhile, Nicole has assured EJ that she will fix things with the election. EJ doesn’t know what she could do – especially now that the election is over, but she tells him to trust her. Stefano is wary, but hopes Nicole knows what she’s doing. EJ goes to the square to make his concession speech. They run into Jennifer who guesses the city chose the right candidate. Nicole is snarky, but EJ doesn’t take Jennifer’s bait. Nicole warns Jennifer this isn’t over. Later, EJ offers his congrats to Abe and Lexie and he senses their tension. Nicole shows up with news that there is a challenge to the results due to ballot tampering. Abe can’t believe this and questions Jennifer, but she swears she told the poll supervisor not to do it. Lexie happens upon this as she hears what Abe is accused of and she loses it. She runs off and Abe wants to go after her, but Roman stops him… he needs to take him down the station for questioning. It begins to looks like EJ might be the new mayor and Abe may lose everything. Madison and Brady learn that Ian McAllister is the new CEO of Titan. Both are stunned, but not as stunned as Victor is when he and Maggie learn Madison is married to Ian. Victor wants to reneg on his offer, but Ian has signed his contract and isn’t going anywhere. Madison makes an emotional appeal to Brady, and Victor puts his foot in his mouth with Maggie. Later, Ian happens upon Kate and pulls her into a passionate kiss. Stefano finally looks in the envelope Alice left behind containing a secret about him. He gets the shock of his life and breaks down in tears. John, Marlena, Hope and Bo prepare to fly to Alamainia to get John and Hope’s divorce. However, they realize “someone” is trying to keep them from going – their visas have been rejected. As they wait for things to get cleared up, John and Hope share some memories of their past under Stefano’s control, and Marlena vows DiMera will not win. They are finally about to head off to Alamainia to deal with their predicament, but they are stopped by officials once more. Only two are allowed to go – and that’s John and Hope!
