Work It sneak peek.
Will Marika come out to her friends in this week's episode??
Joey thinks Rachel has porn when he finds an erotic book under her bed. He proceeds to make fun of her constantly and even tells Ross about it. Furious, Rachel decides to play Joey at his own game. Monica discovers her parents spent all the money from the 'Monica wedding fund' on their beach house. When Chandler sees how disappointed Monica is that she can't have the wedding she always wanted, he offers to spend their savings to giver her dream wedding. Chandler tells her he would have liked their savings to go towards buying a house or their children's education, but Monica wants to be happy. Monica realizes that what will make her happy is simply marrying Chandler. Phoebe looses a massage client and it is partly Ross's fault. Ross feels bad and agrees to pay Phoebe for a weekly massage until she gets a new client.
Rachel interviews for her dream job at Ralph Lauren, and inadvertently kisses the interviewer when he leans in to shake her hand. When she is called back for a second interview, she worries that the man is not interested in her work, but rather believes that she will do anything to get the job. As she waits in the lobby for her second interview, she nervously taps a pen against her teeth, leaving a huge ink stain on her lip. When the interviewer subtly taps his own lip to tell Rachel about the ink, she assumes he's coming on to her. She gives him a piece of her mind and storms out of the office, only to return to the apartment and discover the stain. She returns to the interviewer one more time to plead her case and ends up getting the job. Meanwhile, Monica's competitive streak rears its head yet again when Phoebe says that she and her new boyfriend are in the hot phase of their relationship. Monica claims that she and Chandler are as hot as ever, and embarks on a ridiculous attempt to have more sex than Phoebe.
Joey loses his SAG health insurance due to his lack of work in the past year. In attempt to get into shape and stay out of the doctor's office, Joey starts lifting weights. Unfortunately, this causes him a hernia. Refusing to be examined until it is paid for by his insurance, Joey is determined to get a job and get his coverage back. After endless auditions, Joey lands the role of a dying man, the perfect part for someone in intense pain. Phoebe, meanwhile, has gone to see her psychic who has delivered her with the news that she will be dead by the end of the week. She is very relieved, to say the least, when she realizes her psychic was seeing her own future, not Phoebe's. Ross is asked to be a guest lecturer at NYU, and if successful it may turn into a full time job. When Rachel and Monica visit Ross at the university, they discover him using a British accent during his lecture. He claims to have started using it out of nervousness, and just got stuck with it. At Rachel's suggestion he tries to fade out the accent at next lecture, but the students catch on. As Ross pleads with the students for another chance to make a good impression, Rachel bursts into the hall furious and yelling about Ross lying to her about their annulment. Not the best impression...
At the museum, someone eats Ross's leftover turkey sandwich, compounding his depression over the state of his life. Phoebe convinces Ross to leave a threatening note with another turkey sandwich, and Ross's coworkers react by insisting he attend therapy. The therapist puts Ross on tranquilizers and places him on sabbatical from work. Meanwhile, Phoebe volunteers to collect change for the poor and gets stationed in front of Macy's. Her enthusiasm is soon squashed, however, when people try to take the money from her bucket, or spill their drinks on it, and even urinate on it. She plasters signs all over the area, and enforces strict rules about what can and cannot be placed in the bucket. Eventually she is pulled from her post, and relegated to a less high profile location.
In a 'Super-size' episode, Joey accidentally informs fellow 'Days of Our Lives' castmate (Oscar-winning guest star Susan Sarandon, 'Dead Man Walking') that she will be fired so that her character's brain can be implanted into his own -- and though the diva unloads on him, the odd couple quickly end up in each other's arms. Elsewhere, Rachel and Phoebe try to sabotage each other's chances to meet a cute guy who inadvertently left his cell phone behind while Chandler and Monica desperately urge Ross not to play his screeching Scottish bagpipes at their wedding.
When the alluring cousin (Denise Richards, 'The World Is Not Enough') of Monica and Ross arrives for a visit after a long absence since their childhood, her irresistible beauty causes serious distractions for all the men who meet her -- including an uneasy Ross. Elsewhere, Rachel and Phoebe are hopelessly overmatched when they try to rush their plans for Monica's shower as is Joey when he foolishly tries to trick a casting director to secure an acting role.
Monica regrets telling a fellow bride-to-be (guest star Andrea Bendewald, 'Suddenly Susan') about a cheaper bridal store when she later has to fight the woman tooth-and-nail for a unique wedding dress -- and later duels her for the right to hire Chandler's favorite band for the event. Down the hall, Ross also competes with Joey for the affections of the same lissome lass (guest star Gabrielle Union, 'City of Angels').
Joey, Phoebe and Monica discover that Chandler can't cry no matter what the circumstance. Joey tells him that he's dead inside and Monica makes repeated attempts to elicit some emotion from Chandler. Rachel asks Ross to stop seeing her sister, Jill. Ross agrees to cancel their date, but when he tells Jill she doesn't take it very well. Rachel admits to Jill that it was she who asked Ross to stop seeing her because of their 'history' together. Jill gets mad at Rachel for trying to control her life, so she goes over to Ross's apartment to use him get back at Rachel. Later, when Ross tells Rachel that Jill kissed him, Rachel is furious. He then admits that he stopped the kiss because he didn't want to ruin the chance of them getting back together someday. After witnessing this encounter, Chandler is finally able to cry.
Rachel decides to interview for a position as an assistant buyer, but Joanna, her bitter boss, ruins any chances Rachel had by lying about her character. When Rachel threatens to quit, Joanna creates an assistant buyer position for Rachel in her department instead. When she arrives at work the next day all ready to start her new position, Rachel discovers that Joanna died the night before ... of course the paperwork validating Rachel's promotion never went out. Meanwhile, Monica winds up getting a position as head chef at a local restaurant. Although Phoebe and Monica already bought a van for their catering business, Phoebe decides that Monica's happiness is more important than their joint business venture. The guys are all amped to party with their old buddy Gandolf, but he cancels at the last minute. When Joey suggests that they party without him, the evening ends short because everyone's too tired.
Phoebe helps Chandler pick out an engagement ring for Monica. After finding the perfect ring, Chandler realizes he doesn't have his credit card with him. Chandler leaves Phoebe to guard the ring while he's gone. She is having so much fun trying on jewels that she doesn't notice that the ring is sold to another customer until it's too late. Chandler settles for another ring, but won't be happy until he gets the perfect Monica ring back. Luckily, Phoebe overheard the name of the restaurant where the man was planning to propose. Chandler and Phoebe race to the restaurant and end up talking the man into trading rings with Chandler. Meanwhile, Rachel wants Paul to share his feelings with her. When she finally gets him to open up, he can't stop. Rachel can't take anymore of Paul's crying and blubbering and ultimately breaks up with him. Ross and Joey believe Chandler is mad at them for not being invited to a Knicks game. They decide to give Chandler the 'freeze out' to get him to talk to them about it. When they discover that the reason Chandler has been so distant is because he was searching for an engagement ring for Monica, all is forgiven
Ross and Emily run into a couple of her friends from London - they invite Ross to partake in a 'friendly' game of rugby the next day. Because one of the guys makes a point of mentioning his past fling with Emily, Ross feels determined to play and kick ass (particularly his ass!) While Emily warns Ross of the dangers of rugby, he goes for it anyway and nearly dies in the process. With a couple of pointers from his girl, Ross pulls some smooth moves and ends up proving himself with a vengeance. Ross realizes more than ever that he truly adores Emily and would do anything for her. Meanwhile, Chandler runs into a divorced Janice and she immediately assumes her old post as his obnoxious girlfriend. In an effort to get rid of her once and for all, Chandler lies and says he's relocating to Yemen for work. When Janice sees him off at the airport, Chandler must do one of two things: either fess-up or fly to Yemen ... he boards the plane. Monica tears the apartment apart while tracking an electrical wire that leads to a switch without an outlet.
