Lucy and Viv Visit Tijuana with the kids and Uncle Harry, who buys a doll loaded with contraband.
Viv and Lucy want to visit Tijuana, so they manage to get Harry to drive them there (at 12 cents a mile). They get into a bit of trouble at customs, and end up having to stay in quarantine for 24 hours!
Lucy's children beg Lawrence Welk to replace a wax figure of himself, with himself…..and everything turns out to be "wunnerful, wunnerful".
Viv Comes for a visit and wants to take Lucy up on her suggestions that if Viv can ever comes to LA, Lucy will get her a date with her "good friend" Lawrence Welk. Lucy doesn't want to let Viv know that she was fibbing, so she gets Mary Jane to bring in a Lawrence Welk wax figure, and maybe if she takes Viv's glasses away, Viv won't be able to tell the difference. Meanwhile Kim and Craig manage to get the real Lawrence Welk to pay a visit, causing a wonderful sensation in the Carter household!
Lucy tries to get Harry a perfect match from the output of a dating computer. The computer says that Viv is Harry's perfect match, and Lucy tries desperately to get them together. In the end, Viv falls for Lucy's blind date.
A young man wants a career in the music industry, but his uncle insists he learn the banking business. Lucy arranges for an impromptu audition with a record producer in the bank's lobby.
Lucy convinces Mr. Mooney that she's too ill to come to work so she can go to a department store sale. Once there, she learns she is the ten-millionth customer and wins many valuable prizes... including her photo in the next day's newspaper!
Lucy moonlights as Milton Berle's secretary. She overhears Milton rehearsing a torrid love scene, thinks that the comedian is cheating on his wife, and plots a suitable retaliation.
Lucy encourages a washed-up boxer to come out of retirement for one match to earn enough money to open a flower shop.
Mr. Mooney bets Lucy that she can't find other employment and last for entire day. If Lucy wins the bet, Mr. Mooney will rehire her and give her a raise.
Lucy is preparing to go on vacation, but she has a change of heart when her substitute secretary turns out to be an attractive blonde who Mr. Mooney really likes. Lucy secretly doesn't go on vacation, and spies on them in various disguises.
Lucy tries on an expensive ring Mr. Mooney had made for his wife, and after it gets stuck on her finger, it looks like the bank manager won't be able to give his spouse the anniversary present.
When Mr. Mooney refuses to co-sign Lucy's loan for new furniture, she launches an elaborate scheme to win the money from a company manufacturing beans.
When visiting the bank as a customer, George Burns finds out that Lucy is instinctively funny and asks her to become a partner in his show.
Lucy accidentally destroys a commissioned statue and must impersonate it for the unveiling ceremony.
