Roman drops Sami and Lucas off at the safe house (a motel operated and protected by the police). Sami bemoans having to be there and having to send Will off to live with Carrie and Austin. She and Lucas discuss baby names, but Lucas thinks they should hold off until they know who the father is. Meanwhile, at the hospital, a tormented Nick hands Marlena the DNA results. Marlena is crestfallen to learn EJ is the father of both babies. Marlena delivers the devastating news to Sami and Lucas. A pained Lucas assures Sami she won't lose him. At the DiMera mansion, Kate informs EJ that Sami and Lucas have been taken to a safe house. Only Roman knows where they are. She also surprises EJ with the news that Sami is carrying twins. An upset Nick calls Kate and tells her he did what she wanted - the DNA test conveniently came out in EJ's favor. At the hospital, Sami works to convince EJ she cares for him and wants to be by his side as he recovers. EJ doesn't believe her, and tells her to go home to Lucas. Lucas asks Billie for the name of a lawyer so he can get full legal custody of his daughter. Billie warns that if he takes legal action behind Sami's back, he'll push her away. Lucas doesn't understand why Sami went back to the hospital when EJ already told her to let him die. He's beginning to think she loves EJ, in spite of all her denials. Later, a cop brings Will home; he was caught drinking with some other underage boys. Lucas is furious until Will expresses his hurt over the breakup of his family. EJ assures Stefano that Sami will raise their son on his terms. Kate arrives, angry at both of them for revealing to Lucas that she and EJ faked the shooting. She holds them at gunpoint, but EJ gets the gun from her and calms her down. He takes the bullets before handing it back and then leaves for the wedding. Stefano tells Kate that Lucas will come back if she's patient. Things are tense between Lucas and Sami as she gets ready to leave for the wedding. Will tells Sami he can't stand the idea of her living with EJ and wants to move back in with Carrie and Austin. They agree to discuss it later. Sami leaves for the wedding, and Kate comes to see Lucas, who says he'll only accept her back in his life if she stops the wedding. Outside, she reloads her gun and takes off. On her deathbed, Colleen gathers her family at the B&B to say good-bye. She reveals she has battled cancer for years and the end is near. An unemotional John remains flippant about his newfound mother. Colleen shares a touching farewell with Bo, Hope, Kayla, Marlena, Belle, Shawn and Grandpa Shawn. She implores John to give her a final hug. He relents and she dies in her son's arms. In private, John grapples with his complicated feelings. Unable to reach the Bradys, Lexie calls Philip, who updates her on the situation with Colleen. He and Chloe bond while the Bradys visit with their dying relative. After Colleen passes away, Philip tells Kayla about Lexie's call. Kayla gets in touch with her, and Lexie informs her that she's pregnant! Shawn and Belle agree to try making their marriage work.
