June 17th, 2008: Cubs 2 at Rays 3 F -- A crowd of 31,607 crammed into the building -- so what if half of them wore Cubs jerseys -- cheering and ringing cowbells while the Rays ruined Lou Piniella's homecoming with a 3-2 win over the Cubs that came down to a bang-bang play at first base that ended the game. The Rays have now won 23 of their last 27 games at home and are 3-1 on their current nine-game homestand, perched on the brink of claiming their ninth consecutive home series. In addition, the win kept the Rays two games behind the first-place Red Sox in the American League East. Solo home runs by Cliff Floyd and Evan Longoria, along with an RBI single by Eric Hinske, gave the Rays all the runs they needed, while Grant Balfour, J.P. ADA Nick Potter (Jordan Bridges) tackles an easy case to win until a priest wants the charges dropped -- ADA Jessica Rossi (Milena Govich) is close to getting a conviction on a rape case until Bureau Chief Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March) steals away her defendant for her own insurance fraud prosecution; while ADA Billy Desmond (J. August Richards) decides to network with an exclusive group of upwardly mobile black men, but the high powered connections come with a price, and his colleague Christina Finn (Julianne Nicholson) gets caught in a landlord/tenant lawsuit. Finn (Julianne Nicholson) investigates the suspicious suicide of a 12-year-old girl whose mother said her daughter was dying of cancer, but her autopsy shows otherwise. Potter (Jordan Bridges) goes to a birthday party and when his friend takes out cocaine he leaves, but his friend is arrested later that evening. He seeks help from Potter, who turns the case over to Desmond (J. August Richards) without filling him in on the details of the night. Cabot (Stephanie March) is on an anti drug campaign, and Peluso (Eric Balfour) has to prosecute a grandmother for heroin possession, when it was her grandson who was selling the drugs. Finn (Julianne Nicholson) gets dragged into a tragic shaken baby case and the decision to pull life support from the infant. Against direct orders from his boss, Potter (Jordan Bridges) does not settle a case but wins the case anyway; Desmond (J. August Richards) continues his undefeated winning streak at work and has a one night stand with a woman who works at the courthouse, and Steele (Anson Mount) cancels a date with Rossi (Milena Govich) and gets intimate with Cabot (Stephanie March), right before she makes a stunning announcement. One of the most infamous horror films of the 1970s is revisited in this remake produced by action-spectacle maven Michael Bay.
