Travis Quinn (BEN REED), a fugitive bank robber wanted in Florida, returns to his hometown of Lakeside, New Mexico. That night, Sheriff Del Jessup (MADISON MASON) finds his wife, Lauren Jessup (MICHELLE STAFFORD), brutally murdered in her bedroom and sees Travis fleeing from the house with bloodstained hands. The next morning, bounty hunters Bobby Sixkiller and Reno Raines arrive in Lakeside to arrest Travis. They learn of the murder and find Jessup organizing some townsmen, including Deputy Morgan Edwards (GARY HERSHBERGER) and mechanic Ned Russell (M.C. GAINEY), into a posse to capture Travis. Realizing the angry mob plans to convict Travis without a trial, Bobby and Reno protect their valuable bounty and rescue him.

In the made-for-cable El Diablo, Anthony Edwards plays a bespectacled Eastern schoolteacher who is bullied and cowed by the wild westerners all around him. Soon, however, he is forced to summon up his courage to expedite the rescue of his prettiest female student (M.C. Gainey), who has been kidnapped by the notorious bandit leader El Diablo (Robert Beltran). Louis Gossett Jr. is on hand as the down-to-earth gunslinger who teaches Edwards the rudiments of frontier survival.
