Trouble abounds for J.D. (Zach Braff) and Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) when they feel threatened by a patients' daughter, Neena Broderick (special guest star Julianna Margulies), a malpractice attorney with seemingly evil intentions. J.D. finds great difficulty in escaping her flirty and conniving ways. Meanwhile, Elliot (Sarah Chalke) attempts to hide Doug (guest star Johnny Kastl) from Neena due to his tendency to cause medical malpractices. Elsewhere, Turk (Donald Faison) pulls a fast prank on the Janitor (Neil Flynn) and doesn't like the payback he receives from him and Mr. Korman (guest star Richard Kind, "Spin City"), a former patient who tries to get retaliation. Judy Reyes and Ken Jenkins also star.

During a routine submarine dive, oceanographer Laura Daughtery (Lake Bell) discovers an unknown life form and unearths a government cover-up operation led by scientist Dr. Aleksander Cirko (Rade Sherbedegia) Meanwhile, Louisiana fisherman Richard Beck (Jay R. Ferguson) loses his brother in a suspicious diving accident, and a young boy named Miles (Carter Jenkins) sneaks an unusual aquatic egg into his home. From the South Antarctic Sea and the Gulf of Mexico to San Diego and Monterey, there's something lurking in the water. Leighton Meester also stars.

Good friends and keepers of "Nimrod," Miles (Carter Jenkins) and Phil (Eddie Hassell), are confronted and questioned by Animal Control officers when a neighbor?s dog is reported missing. Meanwhile, Laura (Lake Bell) and Richard (Jay R. Ferguson) continue to follow the unidentified species via a GPS tracking device from a local pier when suddenly all the power in the city goes out and digital data is destroyed. Elsewhere, Cirko (Rade Sherbedgia) and Lee (Ian Anthony Dale), who have been secretly following Laura, invite her to join their investigation. Leighton Meester also stars.

Meanwhile, the battle in court continues between Mr. Korman (Richard Kind), Neena, and Turk (Donald Faison) over the allegations that Turk destroyed Mr. Korman's tennis serve as a result of the shoulder surgery Turk performed on him. John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes and Sarah Chalke also star.

Jeff Grant (River Phoenix) is a San Diego teen who discovers his father Richard (Richard Jenkins) and mother Elizabeth Grant) are KGB agents. When he applies to the Air Force Academy, a routine FBI check leads to the shocking news. Soon the suburb of Fountain Grove becomes the focus of international agents and espionage. FBI agent Roy Parmenter (Sidney Poitier) helps Jeff absorb the shock and he battles KGB agent Konstantin Karpov (Richard Bradford) in a race to capture the Soviet agents.
