While working at a club in Houston, Anna Nicole Smith met Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, whom she married in 1994. At the time, she was 26 and he was 89. The marriage ended with Marshall's death the following year. Smith spent years fighting his son, E. Pierce Marshall, in court over her husband's estate. In 2002, television viewers got an inside look at the life of this wacky, quirky celebrity with a new reality series, "The Anna Nicole Show." Having struggled with her weight on and off for years, Smith later became a spokesperson for a line of diet products. She lost a significant amount of weight and returned to the spotlight looking better than she had in years.

Anna Nicole Smith was born Vickie Lynn Hogan on November 28, 1967, in Huston, Texas. A high school dropout, she grew up in the small town of Mexia where she met her first husband, Billy Wayne Smith. The two gave birth to a son, Daniel; but the marriage couldn't be held together. Smith soon fled to Huston with Daniel, where she worked numerous jobs early on. While working at a strip club, Smith met Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. The two of them couldn't have been more different.

Anna Nicole Smith rose to fame as a model for Playboy magazine and for Guess jeans. She was even named Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1993. The curvy blonde also appeared in a few films, such as The Hudsucker Proxy and Naked Gun 33 1/3. However, her developing "party girl" reputation caused the movie offers to dry out, and she quickly became a fixture in celebrity magazines and tabloids.
