In a misguided attempt to parent, Mrs. X arranges a slumber party for Tuesday. Tuesday is outraged, but has no choice. Canceled by NBC at the end of its second season in 1986, the family sitcom Punky Brewster was revived in off-network syndication one year later -- partly due to public demand, and partly to add more episodes to the series' surprisingly successful network-rerun package. Back on duty are Soleil Moon Frye as feisty 11-year-old Penelope Punky Brewster and George Gaynes as her irascible-but-lovable foster father, Henry Warnimont. A routine investigation leads a young woman down a path she hardly knew existed in this thriller. Kyle Rivers (Soleil Moon Frye) is a novice investigator with the Department of Defense who is asked to do a background check on Lana Hawking (Sean Young), a scientist who has applied for a government position requiring security clearance. In the course of the investigation, Kyle and Lana get to know each other, but their relationship begins to compromise Kyle's search for the truth -- especially when it becomes clear that Lana has a bizarre secret life.
