In a unique twist, J.D. turns his narrating duties over to Ted (Sam Lloyd), Todd (Robert Maschio) and Jordan (Christa Miller) -- as this episode focuses on the lives of the supporting players at Sacred Heart Hospital. Ted (Lloyd) juggles fantasies in which he has a full head of hair and a reality where he is helping the nursing staff fight for a raise; Todd ( Maschio) meets his future son and helps Turk (Donald Faison) preserve his reputation and Jordan (Christa Miller) puts aside her knack for causing misery to help Elliot (Sarah Chalke) and Keith's (Travis Schuldt) relationship. Death is a hard pill to swallow -- J.D. (Zach Braff) and Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) grow close as they go through the five stages of grief with their favorite patient who is declining in health. Eddie's (Brad Garrett) free-spirited college buddy Webby (Ted McGinley) swings into town, sharing tales of his wild bachelorhood with Eddie and Joy (Joely Fisher). After he leaves, Joy comments that Webby's single life seems unfulfilled and decides to introduce him to her friend Denise (Tricia Leigh Fisher), much to Eddie's chagrin. When Webby and Denise instantly hit it off, Eddie is shocked that Webby would want to settle down and end the spontaneous lifestyle he greatly admires. Meanwhile, Jeff (Eddie Kaye Thomas) goes to great lengths to prove to Steph (Kat Foster) that her new 'fun' blouse looks ridiculous.

While flying over the Italian countryside, NATO pilots Dirk Benedict and Ted McGinley fall victim to a mysterious flash of blue light. McGinley is killed, apparently due to Benedict's carelessness. But while working in concert with UFO investigator Patsy Kensit, Benedict comes to the conclusion that the accident was caused by extraterrestrial powers. The source of the blinding light seems to be a treacherous mountain range. The authorities eventually clear Benedict's name, but their official conclusion is that the light flash was caused by a freak mountain lightning storm. We'll hazard a guess that the government is wrong. Revenge of the Nerds is the juvenile sex comedy perhaps most synonymous with the 1980s, alternating gags and scantily clad women with a power to the underdogs mentality that prompted three sequels.
