The music industry might never be the same when Weemawee High's Career Week sparks Johnny into launching his "ideal" career--as leader of his own rock band--under the "careful" guidance of his self-appointed manager, best friend Marshall.

Lauren and Patty are pitted against the wiles of Muffy when they go to bat for their favorite teacher, whose "radical" lifestyle and "unconventional" teaching methods threaten to get him fired from Weemawee.

Muffy's "new wave" bat mitzvah celebration stands to be the "in" social event of the season for virtually all of Weemawee High, except for Lauren, Patty, Johnny and Marshall who have all been mysteriously omitted from Muffy's exclusive guest list. Popular new wave recording group DEVO, in its primetime television debut, performs the single "That's Good" from their latest album "Oh, No! It's DEVO" at Muffy's bat mitzvah party.

Vinnie and Jennifer, Weemawee's "killer 'couple," are suddenly on the outs when Vinnie is cast as the male lead in- the school musical and starts making eyes at his female co-star--Patty.

Patty "blindly" ventures out to prove her theory that glasses decrease popularity at Weemawee, but her visionary experiment could jeopardize her longtime relationship with best friend Lauren.

Patty and Lauren are exuberant over being invited to a Halloween party with "the popular kids," until the festivities take on a spooky air of uneasiness and the overwhelming sense that they're all being watched-by something.
